This unit affords students the opportunity to make use of existing employment, and/or confirmed volunteering/internship opportunities to develop professional skills by engaging industry and/or the community. Through a negotiated learning contract with the relevant academic, the student will develop work-readiness skills that will enhance his/her appreciation for the specific sector in which they have been immersed.

Students will need to complete this unit full-time and therefore cannot enrol in any other unit during the Winter Term.

1. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with industry and or community based partners;

2. Identify and analyse challenges or problems within the placement environment and develop theoretical and/or practical solutions to the problem(s); and
