Unit Delivery Modes

The University offers a wide range of delivery options to help you balance study with other commitments. Units within this degree may be available to be studied in the following delivery modes:

    UC - Canberra, Bruce

      Flexible: The unit combines online study with optional on-campus, face to face activities.
      Intensive: The unit is delivered on-campus and face to face in concentrated time blocks.
      Placement: The unit involves an internship, practicum or other work place experience program. Some on-campus, face to face activity may also be required.
      On Campus: The unit is delivered on-campus and face to face, supplemented with online content. Most classes are run on weekdays and during business hours.
      Online: The unit is studied completely online. On-campus, face to face interaction is not required.
      Research Project: The unit is focused on the delivery of a research project. Attendance at regular classes is not required, however some on-campus, face to face activity may be necessary.

The fees detailed above are the annual fee rates for the course. The annual rate is the fee that applies to standard full-time enrolment, which is 24 credit points. The final fee charged is based on the proportion of 24 credit points in which a student enrols. Students enrolled in a Commonwealth Support Place (CSP) are required to make a contribution towards the cost of their education, which is set by the Commonwealth Government. Course Objectives Graduate Qualities
To provide students with a flexible preparation for many areas of vocational and professional employment, as well as the broad perspective required for informed citizenship through an in-depth understanding of three discipline areas.

The course aims to equip students with a range of skills necessary for being an independent thinker, and to improve your ability to deal confidently and effectively with complex reasoning, argumentation and divergent thinking.

Further, the course aims to develop students capacities to analyse and evaluate complex arguments, to construct strong and convincing arguments and to communicate those arguments effectively. It also aims to develop skills needed for idea generation and creative problem solving.

The course provides foundation units in the first year to develop all the essential generic skills as listed in the UC Generic Skills Policy.

The UC Generic Skills are also developed across the three Majors. While some units in some Majors focus on a few of the Generic Skills, by the completion of a Major, all the skills have been developed. These skills are developed in a general (Foundation units) and discipline specific way (Majors and Open Electives).

The course also provides open electives from any discipline within the University of Canberra.
