Learning Outcomes
This unit is designed to instil in students basic legal research, writing and oral presentation skills that will equip them to successfully undertake further study in the law. It is also intended to give students an awareness of the breadth of non-legal skills and disciplines that impact on the study and practice of law.Syllabus
This subject is designed to sequentially progress a broad range of legal and relevant non-legal skills. This subject will include the following topics: Understanding What Lawyers Do; Finding the Law; Understanding the Law; Apply the Law/Problem Solving; Arguing the Law (Advocacy); Critiquing the Law; Writing the Law: Writing Legal Material in "Plain English".
