Course Requirements
24 credit points at PG level as set out below:
(a) Required units (18 credit points)
(b) Restricted choice (6 credit points)
Students who have attained 96 credit points in a cognate field via the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma pathways are eligible to apply for the coursework Master of Inclusive Education. These students are required to enrol in PG units which must differ from those PG units studied previously in the graduate certificate or graduate diploma.
(a) Required: 18 credit points from the following required units:
7450 Topics in Disability and Special Education PG
7451 Professional Practice Frameworks PG
7452 Strategies for High Support Needs PG
7453 Professional Practice in Action PG
7456 Behaviour Documentation PG
7457 Transactional/Developmental Approaches PG
(b) Restricted choice: 6 credit points selected from the following units:
7458 TEACCH PG
or
7461 Professional Studies in Education PG
or
2 x 3 credit point PG-level electives within the Division of Communication and Education approved by the course convener.

NOTE:
Students with a 3 year undergraduate degree who progress to the Master of Inclusive Education in Autism via the Graduate Diploma must study different units in the Masters to those studied in the Diploma.
Course Duration
Standard: 2 semesters; Maximum: 6 semesters.Admission Requirements
4 year degree in a field cognate to the course, or equivalent.(This field is interdisciplinary, due to the complex needs of many individuals with disabilities and difficulties. A non-exhaustive list of cognate fields is: education, psychology, counselling, allied health [eg, speech therapy, occupational therapy, social work], welfare, and human services.
