Introduction

This course aims to foster the development of knowledge, understanding andskills needed to assist women, their babies and their families in the childbearing process. It facilitates the student's progressive development towards eligibility to register as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of the ACT.

Course Duration

2 semesters full-time or equivalent part-time: maximum 6 semesters.

Admission Requirements

In addition to the normal University requirements for admission to a graduate course, applicants must also: have completed the academic requirements of an undergraduate degree in nursing; be eligible for registration as a nurse in the ACT, and have not less than one year of relevant work experience as a registered nurse or hold a combination of qualifications and work experience deemed equivalent by the University's Admissions Committee.
