The Master of Arts in Communication by research is designed to equip students with a critical understanding of advanced communication or cultural theories and research, a sound knowledge of their chosen field, and the ability to complete a substantial research project and to extend their field through a contribution to knowledge or a new presentation of existing knowledge. Candidates typically undertake investigation, developmental or creative work on topics focused on the news media, government communication, information and communication technologies, or creative media texts. They produce either a research or a creative thesis as their research product.

INT-F2F: Face-to-face teaching in intensive mode (check with unit convener for time of lectures, tutorials etc.)
INT-F2FO: Face-to-face teaching in intensive mode with online teaching
ONL: Online delivery only (no face-to-face teaching)
Face-to-face: Face-to-face teaching with lecturers, tutorials etc, supported by material on Moodle, our online teaching system.
STD-F2FO: Face-to-face teaching with lecturers, tutorials etc, and online teaching.
