Master of Exercise Science (959AA)

leading to the awards of

  • Master of Exercise Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology, or 
  • Master of Exercise Science in Sports Science

This course is designed to provide students with skills in exercise science specialising in either of the professional areas of

  1. clinical exercise physiology or
  2. sports science

for graduates of an appropriate undergraduate degree.

The degree will incorporate lectures, laboratories and tutorial sessions with a strong professional practice component to provide students with the necessary knowledge, development of attitudes and clinical decision making skills required to practice as exercise scientists.

Problem based clinical studies will further develop the decision-making skills of students allowing them to adapt to the challenges encountered in the delivery of exercise science services in a wide variety of settings.

A professional experience component in public hospitals and private practices in the ACT and surrounding region will provide students with an opportunity to further develop their practical skills.

Full-time domestic students in this course may be eligible for student income support in the form of Youth Allowance or Austudy

Commonwealth Supported Places are available for domestic students in Semester 2 2011.
