Master of Information Technology in Mainframe Computing (Advanced) (974AA)

The Master of Information Technology in Mainframe Computing is a new 2 year course that allows a deeper study of Information Technology, with a particular focus on the specialisation of mainframe computing, or a double specialisation.

This course provides state of the art knowledge relating to Mainframe Computing This will include designing, developing and documenting complex multi-program applications, and evaluating factors affecting resource requirements in a corporate mainframe environment. It will include choosing an appropriate strategy and applying techniques for systems integration tasks across different platforms, restructuring, managing and tuning DB2 databases, maintaining, developing and debugging COBOL programs which interact with datasets and databases. You'll work with transaction processing, software and file systems, batch processing, virtualisation concepts and benefits.

STD-F2FO: Face-to-face teaching with lecturers, tutorials etc, and online teaching.
