The Master of Education is a course for educators in any professional educational context. It is a generic course, which offers flexibility of choice and is designed to allow educational professionals to specialise in a number of areas relevant to their own professional contexts. It enables reflection upon a wide range of challenges that educators face, including: how to engage with new technologies in education; how to improve quality teaching and students learning outcomes; how to deal with complex changes affected by globalisation; and how to prepare for educational futures.
The course offers a wide range of unit choices, with the opportunity for specialisation in the following areas: Global Issues and Educational Technologies, Education for Sustainable Futures, Early Childhood Education, Curriculum Planning and Evaluation, and Inclusive Education. Study undertaken in this degree will include: practice-based research and analysis of evidence; creative and inter-disciplinary approaches to solving real-world problems; work-integrated learning and collaboration; and an international approach to curriculum, culture, relationships and outlook. Students holding a Graduate Certificate in Education (105JA) will receive full credit towards the Master of Education award.
Note: This course is not recognised as a teaching qualification.
