Bachelor of Forensic Studies (Forensic Science) / Bachelor of Laws (814AA)
Faculty of Applied Science and Faculty of Law
This course will be replaced by the Bachelor of Applied Science in Forensic Studies / Bachelor of Laws (143JA) course from Semester 1 2011
This program is for students of high ability who aim to make careers in legal areas associated with forensic science. The program contains the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) course as its second degree-equivalent section.
This double degree provides the qualifications to practise as a lawyer as well as the skills to work as a laboratory scientist. As a lawyer they will be able to meaningfully cross-examine expert witnesses in the medical fields. As scientists they will have a better idea of the legal ramifications of their research activities. The breadth offered by the double degree gives graduates a broader perspective, provides greater vocational flexibility and increases the range of employment opportunities in both the private and public sectors.
Students are able to graduate with the degree of B ForensicSt at the end of three years.
