The Graduate Certificate in Academic Foundations is a pathway for international students who would like to study coursework Masters degrees offered by the Faculty of Arts and Design, Faculty of Business and Government, and Faculty of Information and Software Engineering at the University of Canberra. 

It is designed for international students who:

  • Have met the academic but not the English language requirements for postgraduate study; 
  • Want to develop an advanced specialisation in their existing areas of study, or knowledge and skills in a new discipline area.

This Certificate gives international students the opportunity to develop and systematically apply academic and research skills in the English language academic environment. It also aims at developing an advanced theoretical and technical knowledge in their chosen fields of study.

Students who successfully complete this course will:

  • Qualify for their chosen coursework Masters degrees at the University of Canberra and gain 2 units advanced standing with an IELTS 6.0;
  • Develop the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a successful Masters Degree study.
