The Centre for Internet Safety is hosted within the Faculty of Business, Government & Law at the University of Canberra.  The University of Canberra is Australia's capital university and focuses on preparing students for a successful and rewarding career.

Cybercrime Investigations

Students will gain an understanding of the kinds of crimes that can be committed using computers and against computers.  Students will learn that electronic devices often hold evidence relevant to the proof of a great many offences, many of which are not computer crimes.   

Learning outcomes include: 

  • Discover the problems associated with computer crime and determine the rights and responsibilities of parties involved;
  • Identify and describe the different categories of computer crime;
  • Discuss the impact of computer crime on society, and
  • Critically evaluate the current legislation that impacts on computer crimes and law enforcement responses to this legislation.
