Profile:
Sharyn joined NATSEM in 2004 from NSW Health. Sharyn has a strong background in statistics, particularly in the health arena. She is interested in health and health modelling especially inequality and access issues. Currently, she is involved in dynamic microsimulation modelling particularly of the health, health service usage and associated costs within the context of an ageing Australia. This modelling provides the capacity to consider possible health costs over the next 50 years including which sub-populations have the greatest requirements for health services.
At NATSEM Sharyn has been the lead modeller in developing the microsimulation model of the Australian Medicare System. She has also been involved in small area microsimulation in the need for aged care in Australia.
