The Centre for Research in Public Sector Management

What is CRPSM?

The Centre for Research in Public Sector Management (CRPSM) was established by the University of Canberra in 1990.During a time of rapid public sector change, CRPSM seeks to address both frontier issues in management and perennial questions of public administration.

In addition to its own research activities, CRPSM provides a forum for discussion. It brings together scholars and practitioners through its seminars, conference programs and discussion groups and it generates numerous publications from its research and consultancies.

GOALS

The Centre's goals are to:

  • Conduct research into issues of importance in public administration
  • Develop the provision of professional education and research based degrees in public administration
  • Promote discussion, debate and dissemination of information nationally and internationally on public sector issues in Australia and overseas; and
  • Develop governance capabilities within the Centre.

CRPSM is located in the Division of Business, Law and Information Science, within the University of Canberra. Its activities fall under the DEST Area of Research Strength category of 'governance' and the Centre is closely allied with the National Institute for Governance and the National Centre for Corporate Law and Policy Research.
