  • Young Worker Toolkit The Young Worker Toolkit is part of the Australian Government’s commitment to promote fairness for and information to young people to help them make a positive transition into work. The Toolkit is a web based resource, optimised for smartphones, which helps young people find answers to common questions about how workplace relations laws apply to them.
  • CareerFAQs was established in 2005 to fill the gap in the careers book market for comprehensive Australian career resources that give a comprehensive overview of different industries, professions and occupations.  In addition to books, Career FAQs also has a strong online presence with industry-specific content to help people to navigate their way through any particular career path. Read the latest online career news and feature articles. Prepare a resume and cover letter using one of the many sample resumes and sample cover letters on the Career FAQs website, and find out how to get the job you want.
  • GradCareers was launched in 2007 to assist soon-to-be graduates in finding the right graduate career for them.  The site provides information on a wide range of graduate recruitment programs and the companies that offer them, as well as useful information and advice about different occupations and industries.
  • Graduate Careers Australia featuring employer profiles and current vacancy information.
  • Job Guide from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) Details a range of occupations in Australia, including possible education and training pathways. The guide also provides information about deciding on possible occupations, based on a person's interests and abilities.    
  • myfuture is a "one-stop-shop" for information about the labour market, education, training and jobs in Australia.
  • Psychometric Success - a non-commercial site aimed at providing student job seekers with the practice material they need to pass psychometric job selection tests. It has over 100 pages of free information on psychometric and aptitude tests and has over 50 free downloadable practice tests.
  • Vitae is a national organisation championing the personal, professional and career development of doctoral researchers and research staff in higher education institutions and research institutes.
  • UMA - "usemyability" was an employability and disability project with the aim to create a web-based resource,"UseMyAbility". This is now available for practical advice to help students develop their employability skills.

Publications

The NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet has developed an exciting new publication, Breaking Through: Stories of Women in non-traditional occupations.
 
The publication sets out to encourage women to consider careers in non-traditional occupations such as engineering, information and communications technology, forestry and uniformed roles by profiling the experience of 20 inspirational women from across the NSW public sector.
 
Breaking Through will inspire young women who are just starting to consider their futures to think broadly and boldly about the career paths open to them. The publication is available online at www.eeo.nsw.gov.au.
