The Careers Service supports students seeking career information by producing and maintaining a collection of career reference information and resources. It conducts workshops and seminars to assist students make informed career choices and enhance their skills in seeking part time and full time employment, and vocational experience.

Please note the Careers Service DOES NOT provide a recruitment service. We can provide assistance with application documentation but we are unable to find work for students or place students in a job.

Career Advice

Not sure what you will do after you graduate? Need to talk about your career or study options? The Careers Service offers one-on-one career planning appointments with a qualified Careers Consultant. Appointments are available Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons. Sessions go for 30 minutes however if more time is needed, a follow up appointment can be made.

Job Application Assistance

If you are applying for a casual or professional job, the Careers Service can provide advice and feedback on your résumé, cover letter and selection criteria. Workshops will take place throughout the year regarding résumé writing and job applications, however you can also visit the Careers Service to obtain assistance. Please know that the Careers Service will not write your application for you, but instead provide information and assistance which will help refine and improve your application.

Before visiting the Careers Service you need to have:

  • Prepared your job application documents (résumé, cover letter and/or selection criteria)
  • Undertaken some research on how to prepare a job application
  • If you have access to Microsoft Office you can look at their résumé templates Microsoft Office to help guide your formatting.
  • Look at our Career Planning & Management page for information and examples on job application documents.
