Siting of Key Buildings
The winning entry for Module 4, Siting of Key Buildings, is Number 32 by MORQ: submitted by Emiliano Roia, Andrea Quagliola and Matteo Monteduro. Collaborators: Luke Ravi, Anthony Plumb, Tor Dahl and Marco Tripodi.
This proposal extends the Concourse alignments and grid to College Street to make a series of spaces and building sites terminating in an entry court and bus station that firmly connects the Concourse to the surrounding district. The design adds richness and identity to an otherwise non-distinctive entry to the campus.
Key buildings are strategically placed with two new buildings on College Street that give the University a distinctive public address. The proposed new context for future key buildings respects and engages the geometry of the existing built form, reinforces the character of the concourse and allows a seamless yet redefining extension of the campus.
Prize: $15,000.00
