UC Art Collection

The UC Art Collection

began in 1970. It contains about 500 works, mostly oil paintings and original prints by Australian artists of the latter half of the 20th century, with a small number of works from Asia and the Pacific Islands. Included are formal commissioned portraits of significant people connected to the University. As we review the collection, the emphasis is now to purchase quality work by established contemporary Australian artists, and to develop a significant collection of decorative art objects, photographs, sculpture, and new media arts.

The art collection is displayed in public buildings across the campus.
