There are two Distinguished Alumni Award categories – Chancellor's Lifetime Achievement Award and Chancellor's Rising Star Award – open to graduates of the University of Canberra (includes Canberra College of Advanced Education).
Nominations for the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Awards have now closed.
Standard selection criteria includes:
in recognition of a lifetime's achievement
The nominee should have 20+ years of professional experience; they may be employed or retired. The nominee can clearly demonstrate:
in recognition of an emerging professional in any industry
Successful candidates will not have reached a senior or executive level position; however, they will demonstrate a strong career trajectory with the possibility of forward achievement. The nominee may be self-employed or employed by an organisation on a full or part time basis. The successful nominee will demonstrate one or all of the following:
The Rising Star Award will have a public voting process for shortlisted candidates. The public vote for this category will have a 50% weighting towards the finalist selection.

A shortlist of three nominees will be created for each award category based on the selection criteria. The shortlisting panel will include:
The Rising Star Award will have a 50% judging weight from a public vote. All shortlisted candidates in this category will receive votes from the general public. Public voting will be open 1-15 March 2022 via the UC website.
