Important Information

Nominations must be submitted via the online nomination form for processing by Sunday, 2 July 2017. To help prepare your nomination please use the PDF sample as a guide only. 

Nominators must ensure that the nominee is aware of their nomination before submitting to the Alumni Office. Individuals may self-nominate provided a personal reference is supplied.

Nominations must include:

  • Nominee’s personal and professional contact details
  • The nominator’s personal and professional contact details
  • Letter of recommendation if self-nominating
  • Succinct response to selection criteria
  • A high resolution, professional image of the nominee.

Nominees:

  • Must be a graduate of the University of Canberra
  • Can be nominated in multiple categories
  • Cannot win more than one category
  • Must be of a good public standing and have a positive relationship with the University
  • Must be available to accept their award at the gala dinner at the Australian National Museum in Canberra on Saturday 11 November (this will be a requirement to progress to shortlisting)

Finalists and recipients names, images and nominators submissions may be published in any form of media in any context relating to the awards.

Finalists will be made award of the outcome of their award nomination, however the winners will be announced on the evening of the Distinguished Alumni Awards on Saturday 11 November.

Unsuccessful nominees will be notified of the outcome of their nomination after the final selection. All nominees, finalists and winners will be invited to attend the Distinguished Alumni Awards.

Nomination Process

Nominations must be submitted via an online form which will be sent directly to the Alumni Office for processing by Sunday. 2 July 2017.

Judging Process

Shortlisting

A shortlist of three nominees will be created for each award category based on the selection criteria. The shortlisting panel will include:

  • Alumni and Community Engagement Manager
  • Media and Communications Manager
  • Chair of the Academic Board

Faculty/Expert Review

Shortlisted candidates will be sent to the Faculty Dean's or their nominees, for scoring and comment.

Final Selection

Final selection of winners will be made by a panel including:

  • Chancellor
  • Deputy Director, Advancement
  • A previous winner or alumni representative
