Fundraising
Donations
Donations to the University of Canberra are tax deductible for Australian tax payers. Donations may be made for scholarships, research, study and travel grants, endowments, library, buildings etc. To ensure that your donation is used in the way that you want and that you receive an official receipt, all donations must be sent to the Alumni Office at the University. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
Queries relating to donations and sponsorships should be referred to the Director, UC Marketing, Sally Webster, email: sally.webster@canberra.edu.au, telephone: (0)2 6201 5422.
Access Scholarships
The University of Canberra Alumni Access Scholarships are available for students in their first year of study. Scholarships are available to people who are disadvantaged through economic and/or social circumstances or who have a physical or mental disability.
The Alumni has undertaken to raise $100,000 for this program and all donations will be gratefully received. Donations to the Access Scholarship Program may be made as a single gift or spread over five years. If you would like to help, please go to our online donation form.
Bequests
For most people leaving a gift in their Will is the largest donation they will ever make. Bequests can be used to endow a scholarship or Chair in perpetuity or to significantly improve the physical resources of the University.
Making a bequest can be a complicated matter as gifts may be made as a nominated amount, percentage of the estate or the residual of the estate. Gifts of cash, shares, real estate or other property are most welcome and we recommend that you speak with the Director of Marketing at the University to ensure we can meet your requirements before you make any final decisions. Thereafter we strongly recommend that you speak with your legal advisor or Trust Company to help with preparation of your Will.
