Hearing Loop Receivers

To access the Hearing Loop receivers in the lecture theatres listed below, you must ensure your hearing-aids are switched over to their 'T-Switch', as this will ensure you are able to pick up the hearing loops frequency.

  • The Lecture theatres that have operational Hearing-Aid Loops are;
  • 2B7
  • 6B45
  • 9A1
  • 12B2
  • 12B50 - Please note - This loop only exists in the flat floor section at the front of this room.
  • 14B1 - Please note - There is NO COVERAGE in the upper seating level of 14B1.

With the exception of theatres 12B50 tier seating, and the upper level, (level 2), of 14B1, the best locations to access the hearing loop systems are approximately half way back in the seating from the front of the lecture theatre and 3 - 4 seats in from either side of the theatre.

If you have any questions about the Hearing Loop systems, please contact UC AccessAbility and make an appointment to see a Disability Advisor who can explain this in more detail if required.

Assessment

Students may discuss with UC AccessAbility the possibility of alternative assessment or examination modifications. These issues are negotiable with the teaching staff.

The University uses guidelines for reasonable accommodation, which are nationally recognised. These guidelines set out specific strategies in relation to a wide variety of disabilities and health conditions.

Strict deadlines are set down for the process of negotiation and outside of these deadlines there is no guarantee that UC AccessAbility will be able to make the requested arrangements.
