Engage in sustainability through your course
Students Owen Dark and Damien Knight began working on a concept design for a UC community garden as part of coursework in semester 2, 2012 (Sustainable Communities, Faculty of Arts and Design). The concept was presented to the University Environmental Works Committee in late 2012 and Students now have the opportunity to progress the design and associated spaces such as a tool shed, fencing, educational materials and artworks as part of coursework in Winter Term 2013.
If you are interested in incorporating a sustainability project into your coursework or work integrated learning, talk to your lecturer. The academic and operations arm (Estate and Facilities Management) of the University have a long history of tailoring projects to meet learning outcomes while providing students with the opportunity to engage in the design, planning, implementation and monitoring of a diversity of sustainability initiatives.
