6 July 2015: The University of Canberra's first female Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander graduate Jeanine Leane delivered the Ngunnawal Lecture on 1 July.
Dr Leane graduated with a Diploma of Education in 1984 and used the lecture to reflect on her time spent at the University's predecessor the Canberra College of Advanced Education and her impressive achievements since graduating. A Wiradjuri woman from southwest NSW, Dr Leane is an award-winning author and post-doctoral fellow at The Australian National University.
