30 July 2014: The University of Canberra Capitals have re-signed guard Jess Bibby for the upcoming 2014/15 WNBL season.

This season will be Bibby's ninth with the University of Canberra Capitals, having joined the Canberra franchise in 2006.

"We've got a strong roster with a lot of depth and experience, new training facilities and a new program, so it's very exciting. I love to win, that's why I'm still playing," she said.

The 34-year-old has re-signed for a further two years and said she's keen to shake off the disappointment of the last few seasons.

"We proved last year that we could match it with the top teams but inconsistency let us down. Graffy [Carrie Graf] has got a good team together, so we have what it takes for a really great season ahead," she said.

Head coach Carrie Graf said: "Re-signing Bibby to the University of Canberra Capitals for another two seasons was a no-brainer for us.

"She is still one of the best shooters in the WNBL and continues to set standards with her work ethic and passion for the game."

Bibby has five WNBL championships to her name (Dandenong 2004, 2005, Canberra 2007, 2009, 2010) and was also part of the Opals side that competed in the 2012 London Olympic Games qualifying tournament.

The University of Canberra Capitals were established on 16 May, taking over from Canberra's former WNBL team. The Canberra WNBL franchise is based at the University's Sporting Commons.
