University of Canberra Council Member appointed by the ACT Chief Minister
The University of Canberra Council and ACT Government are seeking expressions of interest from people who wish to nominate for a position arising on the Council in January 2019. Appointment to this vacancy is to be made by the ACT Chief Minister.

Information about the University and role of the Council, its committee structure and membership can be found on the University Council website. Prior to nominating, applicants should familiarise themselves with the University and the role of the Council, as well as the duties of Council members under the University of Canberra Act 1989.
To nominate as a member of the Council you must:
- be over 18 years old;
- not be disqualified from managing corporations under the Corporations Act, part 2D.6; and
- not be convicted of an offence punishable by imprisonment of at least one year.
Disqualification in relation to (c) ends on the later of, either five years after the date of the person’s conviction or five years after the date of the person’s release from prison.
Current staff or students of the University or members of a Commonwealth or State Parliament, the Legislative Assembly or legislature of another territory are not eligible to apply.
Nominations are to be submitted to the University Secretary at firstname.lastname@example.org by 5.00pm on Thursday 25 October 2018.
Nominations are to include:
- a completed nomination form (PDF, 165.74 KB);
- a cover letter; and
- your curriculum vitae.
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Following the close of nominations, the applications will be assessed by a Joint Selection Panel and a recommendation will be made to the Chief Minister. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of the EOI process in writing following appointment by the Chief Minister. It is anticipated that the EOI process will conclude in January/February 2019.
