Dr. Ting Wang is Professor in Education and the Program Director, International Education, Leadership, and Development at the Faculty of Education, Science, Technology and Maths, University of Canberra (UC). She was a former lecturer in English as a Second Language at Beijing International Studies University for over ten years.
Professor Wang has fifteen years experience in research and teaching in the area of educational leadership and education, particularly in postgraduate transnational education programs offered by UC in China. Her sustained contribution to student learning and teaching excellence, underpinned by research in cross-border educational leadership development and transnational teaching, has been recognised through major institutional, national and international awards, including 2012 UC Vice Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence, 2009 Award of Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning.
She has published extensively and presented at national and international conferences in the areas of cross-border educational leadership development, transnational teaching and learning, international education, and professional learning communities. She was an invited visiting scholar at Singapore National Institute of Education, Beijing Normal University, Hong Kong Institute of Education, and the University of North Texas during her sabbatical leave in 2011. Dr. Wang and five international researchers formed the Global PLC Network in 2011. This network researches PLC (Professional Learning Community) policies and practices in schools across six educational systems.
