Dr Sumaira Qureshi is a Statistician who has been involved in research, teaching and/or consultancy in a number of universities and research organisations since 1997. She completed her MPhil in Geostatistics at the University of Queensland and PhD and Postdoc in Bioinformatics in the Mathematical Sciences Institute at the Australian National University. She has taught and developed subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and worked as a Statistical Consultant at the University of Canberra. She contributed in the delivery of Practical Computable General Equilibrium Modelling course to CSIRO scientists and economists. Dr Qureshi has contributed in the development of several mathematical models in the CRC for Sustainable Sugar Production at James Cook University and worked as a Bibliographic Record Coordinator and Technical Editor at the University of Queensland. She has co-authored 16 scientific articles published in leading national/international journals, conference proceedings or book chapters.
