Kathy is a lecturer and researcher in the areas of Health Education, Physical Education, Outdoor Education, and Vocational Education.

She is a qualified secondary school teacher who has taught in the areas of outdoor education, health and physical education, and the humanities. She also has industry qualifications in training and assessment, outdoor recreation including a range of outdoor adventure activities, and is a founding member of the ACT Outdoor Education Association and the national network that is Outdoor Education Australia.
