I am a father, a husband, a son, a sibling, a godfather, a musician, a choir conductor and as well I am an academic: a professor of education and my passion is to help people improve the way they learn and perform. I regularly engage with workplaces to experiment with new theories and strategies to improve learning and performance.
I learn a lot by both reading and experimenting with ideas. I also learn a lot by listening to others and questioning them. I have five university degrees and not a day passes that I don’t read something. I am vigilant and always on the hunt for new models and theories. I love to discover new philosophies, different ways of thinking about things and better ways of working and being. I believe there is always more than one way to do something but each way will be better suited to particular criteria and we should consciously adapt our way of thinking.
I have been Associate Dean, Head of Discipline of Community Studies, Convenor of Professional Development and Associate Professor of HRD as well as Visiting Scholar and Professor at universities in UK, USA, Switzerland, China, Italy, Spain, and Slovenia. My expertise includes HRD, learning, leadership development, publishing seven books in the field, co-authoring a further two, and over forty articles in refereed journals. My consultancy interests are broad focused on strategic improvement.
