Building and Construction Management

Take Your Career in Building to New Heights

Keen to become a leader and expert in the building industry? Our degree will equip you with the skills to lead confidently in the world of building management.

You will learn management and supervision techniques specific to the building industry while developing detailed knowledge of building processes and materials. Throughout the course we will take you through the legal frameworks and roles of important players in the industry, as well as the technology to manage projects. This together with negotiation, presentation and communication skills will show you what the real world of building management is all about.

Our Bachelor of Building and Construction Management is accredited by the Australian Institute of Building (AIB) and meets the qualification requirements to obtain a Class 'A' (unlimited) Builders Licence in the ACT.

You will also have pathways for quantity surveying, along with potential double majors in accounting and sustainability. An Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) accreditation requires you to complete certain units through the University of Canberra and distance learning through the University of Newcastle.

Learn important practical skills through three industry based learning units of co-operative education in the construction industry.

Study Abroad

The University of Canberra (UC) has a robust international student exchange program which many Design students will take advantage of to add an international edge to their degree. Students can travel for short courses or six month exchanges to educational institutions throughout Europe, South America and Asia.
