Team UCAN

Team UCAN is here to support charity events throughout the Capital Region, but there is only so much we are able to facilitate. However, we can to assist those running other events that help others and encourage healthy living.

If you know of an event that could use some promotion or you have signed up for an event and need some help fundraising, email us at teamucan@canberra.edu.au. We will publish the information on this website and our facebook page.

Those participating in the below events are eligible to register for Team UCAN and collect a Team UCAN registration pack including a Team UCAN singlet. To register click here.

City 2 Surf, August 12 2012

Since 1971 Sydney-siders have been joined by participants from all over the world, elite athletes rubbing shoulders with locals to run, walk or watch the 14km race from Hyde Park in Sydney’s CBD to the finish at Bondi Beach. Whether you’re a serious runner, jogger, walker, pusher or want to join in for the first time, don’t miss your chance to be a part of Sydney’s favourite sporting event. Registration opens May 27 2012, and make sure you select Team UCAN as your team for the event. For more information about the event visit the event website.

Ride to Work Day, October 17

Ride to Work Day is the perfect opportunity for you to have a go at riding to work. By participating in Ride to Work Day and registering to make your ride count, you make an important contribution to building the case for better bike facilities in your community. The University of Canberra participates in this event each year. If you would like to get involved, email teamucan@canberra.edu.au and we will put you in touch with the organisers.

Fundraising Activities

Charnel Slater - Sunsuper Ride to Conquer Cancer, October 13 - 14

Charnel is embarking on a huge task for a beginner cyclist, the 'Ride to Conquer Cancer', a 200km bike ride to raise money  for the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse at RPA, a cancer research and treatment facility . Charnel aims to raise $2,500 toward the charity. For more information about the event or to donate to Charnel, click here.
