Biography:
Alexander Boynes is a Canberra-based artist.
Graduating from the ANU School of Art with Honours, in 2004, Alexander Boynes has exhibited extensively throughout Australia including regional galleries such as Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, Orange Regional Gallery and the Canberra Museum and Gallery. His practice has become multi-disciplinary over the years, as he works across the media of painting, photography, print media, light-based work and video installation.
Whilst much of Boynes’ practice is collaborative, he has nevertheless maintained a singular focus on new technologies, allowing him to produce dynamic and at times, pulsating, bodily movement, in effect creating a particularly personal and contemporary visual language.
Artwork
From his 2016 solo exhibition, “Body/Time/Light” (Beaver Galleries, Canberra), the subject artwork reflects the artist’s thematic concerns.
